The SwoleAF Pre Workout: El Chapo, And Where The Old Names Went

I can see the old names still getting typed into Google. People go looking for a SwoleAF pre-workout under a name we haven’t sold in a long while, and they land somewhere that doesn’t answer the question. That’s on us, not on them. We’ve renamed a couple of things, retired a couple of things, and rebuilt the whole site in between, and if you only check in every few months that’s a lot to keep track of.

So this is the page I should have written a while back. Short answers, in order.

The pre-workout we sell is El Chapo

El Chapo is the pre-workout in our lineup. There isn’t a second one to pick between, which makes this an easier page to write than it probably should be. lol

If you came looking for Illicit

Illicit is now El Chapo. It was a rename, not a retirement. We wrote that one up on its own if you want the longer version: Illicit Pre Workout: It’s Called El Chapo Now.

If you came looking for Escobar

Escobar is discontinued. It isn’t on the site and it isn’t sitting in a warehouse somewhere. We’re constantly evaluating feedback and update the lineup based on what customers want, and that’s the honest version of it. There’s a fuller write-up here: Escobar Pre Workout: What Happened To It, And What I Reach For Now.

Hulk AF is discontinued as well

While I’m going through the names, Hulk AF is discontinued too. Same answer as above, and I’d rather tell you now than have you keep looking for it.

The original El Chapo formula isn’t coming back

I’m going to say it plainly: the original formula isn’t coming back. What leaves the warehouse is the V2, and that’s what’s on the product page. If you’ve been checking back waiting for the old one to reappear, you can stop checking.

The flavors

There are four, and all four are listed on the site: Tiger Blood, Tropical Paradise, Fruit Punch and Blue Razz.

Four small glass bowls of differently coloured drink powder lined up on a dark slate surface

I’ve got a cupboard at home full of half-finished tubs, most of them abandoned because I bought a big one of something I’d never tasted and then couldn’t face it. So if you’re going back and forth, we wrote a whole thing about picking a flavor you’ll actually finish: How to pick a pre-workout flavor you’ll actually finish.

One more thing while I’m on flavors: pre-workout tends to clump. That’s normal for the formula and a good shake of the tub breaks it up. It isn’t a sign anything’s wrong with your tub.

When people take it

It’s a pre-workout, so it’s made to be taken before you train. Beyond that I’m not going to tell you how much or how long before, because that’s what the label on the tub is for and I’d rather you read that than take my word for it.

And I don’t reach for one before every session. Some days I just don’t. Nobody’s grading you on it, and I wrote about that here: I don’t take a pre-workout before every session.

One thing on the label that isn’t optional

El Chapo is intended for healthy adults 18 or older. That’s what the label says and I’m not going to be cute about it.

Still not sure

If your question isn’t on this page, email [email protected]. We read everything that comes in and we answer it.

Stay Swole,
